Odiorne Chick Days 2023: Chicks are coming to Odiorne this month! We expect to receive them by the middle of March. However, we strongly advise that you call the store prior to making a visit to confirm delivery, type of chicks and the number available.

Breeds You Can EGGS-Pect to See:

Blue Star chickens are a cross between a Blue Andalusian and a Barred Rock. They lay on average 240 large brown eggs annually.

Rhode Island Reds are a dual-purpose breed who are the state bird of Rhode Island. They lay an average of 260 large brown eggs per year.

Barred Rocks are friendly, sweet, and docile birds.They lay extra-large brown eggs at an average rate of 240 per year.

Black Australorps are one of the best heavy breeds of chickens. They are of Australian descent, famous for laying more than 260 large brown eggs per year.

Silver Laced Wyandotte is and ideal breed if you’re looking for a solid yet docile chicken that lays nicely. They lay around 208 large brown eggs per year.

Easter Eggers can vary wildly in appearance since they are produced when crossing an Araucana or Ameraucana chicken with any other breed of chicken that usually lays brown eggs. They are known for their beautiful blue and green-colored eggs, which they normally lay around 160 per year.

If Organic is your preference, we suggest Purina Organic Starter-Grower. It contains the optimal combination of all the required nutrients chicks need to grow and develop into happy, healthy hens – no need to supplement.

If you’d prefer the traditional route and your chicks are already vaccinated, go with Purina Start & Grow Non-Medicated. If they are not vaccinated, or you are uncertain, go with Purina Start & Grow Medicated.
