Welcome to Curt’s Corner! Let’s talk about fertilizer. By now you have probably mowed your lawn 2-3 times, cutting down the fast growing winter/early spring weeds that love to take over your yard. Well, now that spring has sprung, it’s time to feed the desirable grasses with a good quality fertilizer.
What Kind of Fertilizer Do We Offer?
We have an excellent slow release lawn fertilizer called Green Diamond Supreme Lawn Food that has trace elements, including 2% iron. Being slow release, it allows you to feed your grass over a longer time period, with less risk of burning or over-application. Also, you won’t need to make a second application until it’s time to winterize your lawn.
If organic fertilizer is your preferred choice, I’m happy to let you know that we are now handling Nature’s Creations Premium Lawn and Garden Fertilizer. This is manure free (less smell), and contains quality natural nitrogen sources like cottonseed, alfalfa, and sunflower meal, along with dried cane molasses and trace elements. It also has naturally occurring mycorrhizal fungi, which aids in disease resistance and hardiness.
I know that in times of drought we are all watching our water usage, but if you do still have an area of lawngrass you’re proud of, you might consider these products, or one of the many other fertilizers that we carry.
